Meet Dobby: A Very Special Three-Legged Dog in Venice, Florida
One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is meeting incredible people—and sometimes, their equally incredible pets!
While photographing a community event in Venice, Florida, I had the absolute joy of meeting Dr. Meredith and her sweet dog, Dobby. Dr. Meredith owns her own veterinary practice and has such a genuine love for animals. She is also a passionate advocate for animals who have been mistreated and need someone willing to stand up for them.
Dobby is a very special three-legged pup and one of Dr. Meredith’s own patients. The moment I met him, I completely fell in love! He was incredibly sweet, happy, and full of personality. His adorable little hat, big smile, and beautiful eyes made him an absolute natural in front of my camera.
Watching Dr. Meredith interact with Dobby was the sweetest thing. You could immediately see the love and trust between them, and I wanted their photographs to capture that connection—not just what they looked like, but who they are together.
That is what I love most about photography. Some of the most meaningful images happen in completely unexpected moments. I arrived to photograph a community event, but I also had the opportunity to document the beautiful bond between a veterinarian and the dog she loves so deeply.

As a photographer, I never want you to feel like your pet has to stay home during your session. Dogs are family, and their personalities, funny expressions, and relationship with their people deserve to be documented, too!
